What to expect from counseling with Dr. Shannon:

1) Specific goals to address. Counseling goals should be specific with clear ways to track progress.

2) Support in prioritizing what goals and challenges matter most to you. Goals are often broken down into more manageable steps.

3) An approach that is decided upon together.

4) Intentional and Specifc Sessions. Sessions that aim to work on goals in a safe and supportive setting.

5) A Real & Safe Environment for Exploration.

Dr. Shannon is currently taking self-pay clients. She provides a 15-minute consultation to assess your needs, answer questions, and collaborate about services provided. Dr. Shannon sets-up counseling services in a best practices standard format, meaning, an initial appointment includes an intake assessment, followed by sessions delivered on the most appropriate interval (weekly, monthly). In therapy, discharge planning often begins at intake. This philosophy allows you to have the time, space, and flexibility necessary to meet your goals in a non-pressured environment, but with assurance that all sessions and work is directed at meeting your goals.
